Front-End / UI/UX Developer - U.S. Coast Guard - Remote
BizFirst is assisting our client with recruiting a Front-End / UI/UX Developer - Remote. This position will support the U.S. Coast Guard by helping design and deliver mission-critical web and mobile applications.
This role is ideal for a developer who combines strong front-end engineering skills with practical UI/UX design judgment, user research experience, and the ability to build responsive, reliable applications in secure federal environments.
This is a fully remote opportunity supporting a mission-driven federal project with real-world impact.
What will you do
As a Front-End / UI/UX Developer, you will design, develop, and maintain responsive web and mobile applications. You will translate requirements, wireframes, and user feedback into intuitive interfaces, while collaborating closely with product owners, stakeholders, backend engineers, and delivery teams.
Responsibilities:
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Design, develop, and maintain responsive web applications using React, AWS Amplify, TypeScript, and GraphQL APIs.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Build and optimize mobile applications using React Native and/or Flutter, with an emphasis on offline-first design for reliability in disconnected or low-connectivity environments.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Translate wireframes, mockups, and requirements into clean, functional, and user-friendly interfaces.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Collaborate with stakeholders, product owners, and backend engineers to ensure seamless integration across systems.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Lead and conduct user research, usability testing, and feedback sessions to continuously refine the user experience.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Create and maintain design assets, style guides, and UI/UX workflows using Figma and Adobe XD.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Apply accessibility and usability best practices to support compliance with federal standards, including Section 508.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize front-end performance across devices, browsers, and mobile platforms.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Document processes, design decisions, and technical implementations to support continuity and scalability.

Requirements:
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 U.S. Citizen.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Active TS clearance required to start.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 8+ years of professional experience as a Front-End Developer, UI/UX Engineer, Mobile Developer, or related technical role.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Proven expertise with React, TypeScript, AWS Amplify, and GraphQL APIs.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Demonstrated experience with mobile frameworks such as React Native or Flutter.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Proficiency with UI/UX design tools such as Figma and Adobe XD.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Experience conducting user research, usability testing, and feedback sessions.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Strong understanding of responsive design, accessibility standards, and cross-platform development.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Experience supporting federal government, defense-related, or national security projects.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Familiarity with Agile development practices and DevSecOps pipelines.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices in application development.
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Familiarity with offline-first and low-connectivity application strategies.
