Join Clariant as a Maintenance Supervisor and play a key role in ensuring the reliability and performance of our plant operations. In this position, you will lead a skilled maintenance team, coordinating planning, scheduling, and execution of maintenance activities to keep equipment running safely and efficiently.

You will balance priorities and resources to minimize downtime, support production targets, and respond effectively to operational needs. At the same time, you will foster a culture of continuous improvement by developing team capabilities, enhancing equipment reliability, and driving proactive maintenance practices.

This role is also critical in maintaining high standards in safety, quality, and environmental performance, contributing directly to the site’s operational excellence and long-term success.

 

 

 

 


Responsibilities

Maintenance Planning and Scheduling

  • Direct daily maintenance activities to ensure efficient repair and upkeep of plant equipment
  • Ensure, planned, review and finalized maintenance activities are executed according to schedule
  • Maintain records of maintenance activities, prepare reports, analyze data, and recommend improvements
  • Coordinate with Production and Maintenance Planning to align maintenance and production schedules
  • Act as liaison between maintenance execution and planning teams, ensuring spare parts availability
  • Participate in daily, weekly, and annual shutdown planning and scheduling
  • Balance new and backlog work orders to optimize daily and weekly workload

Maintenance Execution

  • Lead daily meetings to track work order completion and identify improvement opportunities
  • Review and validate backlog status with maintenance and planning teams
  • Oversee and support repairs on rotating equipment (e.g., pumps, seals, blowers, compressors)
  • Manage urgent and emergency work, including on-call requirements
  • Provide maintenance reports and updates to management as required

Continuous Improvement & Team Development

  • Evaluate team performance and ensure adherence to updated procedures and standards
  • Set and maintain high standards for work quality and maintenance excellence
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including operations, engineering, and leadership
  • Drive equipment reliability improvements using proactive and continuous improvement approaches

Safety & Sustainability

  • Ensure compliance with quality, safety, environmental, and health standards
  • Encourage proactive identification of improvements to enhance safety, efficiency, and cost performance

 

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED; or technical college education preferred
  • Proficiency in SAP (preferred) and Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems within an industrial environment
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and P&IDs
  • Good understanding of maintenance processes and plant operations
