Job Description

As a Security Officer - Driving Role Rounds in Sterling, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a leading tech and data center location, you will conduct routine patrols and visible presence to help to deter security-related incidents, support access control, and respond to alarms and service requests with clear, professional communication. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license in line with AU Driver Policy requirements. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients and site personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a technology-focused location.
• Respond to alarms, access control issues, visitor concerns and/or other incidents in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating to the appropriate contacts as needed.
• Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of interior areas, loading docks, parking areas and the perimeter, watching for conditions that may help to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor cameras, alarm panels and other security-related systems, completing patrol and incident documentation and communicating updates to site leadership.
• Control access to restricted areas by verifying identification, managing visitor sign-in and/or escort procedures, and maintaining professional interaction with employees, contractors and delivery drivers.

Minimum Requirements:

• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• A guard card/license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
