Job Description

As a Security Officer Licensed Service Patrol in Ashburn, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal in a government school location where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, stay visible to help reduce security-related concerns, and support students, staff, and visitors through strong communication and customer service. In this unarmed patrol role, you will be part of a caring team that values agility, reliability, innovation, teamwork, and integrity while making a meaningful impact each day.

Pay Rate: $18.50 / Hour

Job Schedule:

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to students, staff, visitors, and/or contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a public education location.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting relevant details and communicating with school personnel and/or public agency contacts as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout campus buildings, parking areas, athletic spaces, and perimeter areas to help identify unusual activity and/or conditions that may require attention.
• Monitor entrances, hallways, and other assigned areas to help support authorized access practices, observe daily activity, and report security-related concerns in accordance with site procedures.
• Assist with school and location operations by providing directions, answering questions, and supporting orderly movement during arrival, dismissal, events, and/or other high-traffic periods.

Minimum Requirements:

• CPR certification is preferred.
• Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
