Iberia Comprehensive Community Health Center (ICCHC) and its satellite health centers are the leading providers of primary health care services in the communities we serve, including individuals who are both insured and uninsured. Â ICCHC provides multi-disciplinary, comprehensive health care services, including pharmacy services. Â Our pharmacy department provides medication, healthcare equipment, vaccinations, medical supplies, and other medical services to patients in our service areas.
ICCHC is currently seeking a full time Pharmacy Technician for its Leesville, Louisiana location. Â
GENERAL SUMMARY/ OVERVIEW STATEMENT:
The Pharmacy Technician operates under the direct supervision of the Pharmacy Director and is responsible for performing the administrative and service-based duties that keep our customers satisfied. The ideal candidate for this position is detail-oriented, able to multitask, and enjoys working with customers.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Pharmacy Technician is a member of the pharmacy team. This position is responsible for processing and filling prescription orders under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist. They provide assistance to the pharmacist in the performance and delivery of professional services. They monitor patient profiles, records, invoices, and inventory levels to ensure that the pharmacy is running at optimal efficiency. Â Â
QUALIFICATIONS:
- EDUCATION:
To work as a Pharmacy Technician one must have a high school diploma or its equivalent. A pharmacy technician must have successfully completed a board-approved structured program for pharmacy technician education and training. The technician must demonstrate evidence of at least 600 hours of practical experience under the supervision of a pharmacist preceptor. The technician must also have successfully completed and passed a board-approved technician examination. He/she must also acquire the minimum yearly requirements of continuing education hours. These CE’s must be maintained and available in the pharmacy. The pharmacy technician will therefore have an active pharmacy technician license and be in good standing with the board of pharmacy.
- TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
This position requires the ability to ensure the efficient operation of the Pharmacy Department.Â
- JOB KNOWLEDGE:
 One must have knowledge of the various aspects of pharmacy operations. The job requires good computer and mathematical skills. One must also demonstrate good ethical judgment in investigating and resolving problems.Â
- PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Working is primarily sedentary. Â Large amounts of time may be spent reading or using PC. Â Occasional local and national travels.
