JOB SUMMARY:

Employee assists plant manager in organizing, directing, controlling, evaluating, and implementing through a team of functional supervisors the production activities of workers who manufacture and assemble metal strata control products for the mining and tunneling industries to ensure adherence to ASTM-F432 standards, customer specifications, and production completion schedules.

 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Related Engineering Degree Preferred; High School Diploma/GED Required
  • Minimum Three-to-Five (3-5) Years Metal Manufacturing Experience Required or Equivalent Combination of Education and Experience
  • Forging/Stamping Experience Preferred
  • ISO 9001 Experience, A Plus

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proficient knowledge of metal manufacturing processes, procedures, and machinery with ability to understand underlying principles of production operations to reason and make judgments to meet deadlines in a high volume production environment
  • Proficient ability to implement Company’s standard operating, quality assurance, and safety procedures during all phases of production operations with capable knowledge of the ISO 9001 system
  • Standard verbal/written communication skills to present information or ideas clearly to personnel at all levels of production operations and administrative functions
  • Organizational skills to implement production schedules to maintain adequate inventory of raw materials and finished products to meet customer demand
  • Dependability to be consistently at work and on time with the ability to work a flexible schedule that may include all shifts. 
  • “Team Member” mentality with complementing ability to self-motivate, organize, and work well with others
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to solve practical problems and control a variety of changing situations in an unbiased manner
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office)
  • Manual dexterity to operate machinery and computer as required
  • Light/medium (5-30 lbs) lifting capability during normal phase duties

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist Plant Manager with organizing, implementing, directing, supervising, evaluating, adjusting plant production operations in accordance with standard operating, quality assurance, and safety procedures to ensure adherence to ASTM-F432 standards while meeting shift production goals and customer specification.
  • Assist Plant Manager with coordinating, implementing, monitoring production procedures to cost-effectively use materials, labor, and equipment to maintain sufficient inventory of raw materials and finished products to meet production demands.
  • Coordinate, implement, supervise production, quality assurance, and safety inspection reporting procedures to facilitate adherence to ASTM-F432 standards and ISO 9001 system.
  • Monitor and evaluate machine/equipment maintenance schedules to maintain plant in an organized and productive state at all times to facilitate cost-effective product production.
  • Assist Plant Manager in hiring/firing and supervision of employee training in use of machines/equipment and steel product manufacturing procedures.
  • Assist Plant Manager in managing harmonious personnel relations, unbiased dispute resolution, and equitable discipline administration as required.
  • Mentor and supervise employee performance reviews.
  • Attend corporate training sessions to acquire innovative procedures to maintain competitive edge in production operations.
  • Perform other duties and tasks as assigned by senior management.
