JOB SUMMARY:
We are seeking an experienced Safety Manager to lead and strengthen our Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) program in a high-volume steel tube manufacturing facility. This role is highly hands-on and requires at least 50% of time spent on the shop floor working directly with production teams to identify hazards, enforce safety standards, and drive a proactive safety culture.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in heavy manufacturing environments, with expertise in machine guarding, hazard identification, OSHA compliance, and ISO 14001 / ISO 45001 systems.
This position plays a critical leadership role in protecting employees, improving operational safety performance, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma/GED Required
- 5+ years of EHS leadership experience in heavy manufacturing (steel, metal fabrication, automotive, industrial manufacturing, etc.)
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or ASP certification
- ISO 14001 and/or ISO 45001 systems experience

- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and compliance programs
- Demonstrated expertise in machine guarding and hazard identification
- Experience working in high-risk industrial environments
- Hands-on leadership style with the ability to work directly with shop floor teams
- Experience conducting incident investigations and safety audits
- Strong communication and training skills
- Experience in steel, tube, pipe, or metal manufacturing
- Experience leading behavior-based safety programs
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead the plant’s Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) programs for a steel tube manufacturing operation
- Maintain compliance with OSHA regulations, environmental regulations, and company safety standards
- Serve as the primary safety leader on the shop floor, spending significant time working alongside operations and maintenance teams
- Identify, assess, and mitigate workplace hazards including machine guarding, pinch points, energy isolation, and high-risk manufacturing processes
- Conduct hazard analyses, safety audits, and incident investigations, implementing corrective actions and preventive measures
- Develop and lead safety training programs for production employees, supervisors, and maintenance teams
- Manage and maintain ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems, including audits and continuous improvement initiatives
- Lead root cause investigations for incidents, near misses, and safety events
- Track and report safety metrics, KPIs, and regulatory documentation
- Partner with plant leadership to build and sustain a strong safety culture
