We are currently seeking a full-time Outpatient Counselor.


JOB GOAL

The Outpatient Counselor provides professional counseling and therapeutic services to individuals, couples, and families in an outpatient setting. The counselor is responsible for conducting assessments, and delivering evidence-based interventions to help clients achieve their therapeutic goals. The ideal candidate will be compassionate, skilled in a variety of therapeutic modalities, and committed to providing high-quality, client-centered care.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct thorough initial assessments to evaluate clients' mental health status, presenting problems, and treatment needs.
  • Develop individualized, strengths-based treatment plans in collaboration with clients, outlining clear and measurable goals.
  • Provide individual, group, and family counseling using a range of evidence-based therapeutic modalities (e.g., Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), trauma-informed care, Motivational Interviewing).
  • Monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans as needed to ensure effective outcomes.
  • Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation services as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation, including progress notes, treatment plans, and discharge summaries, in compliance with all legal and regulatory standards.
  • Adhere to strict confidentiality guidelines and ethical codes of conduct.
  • Prepare and submit all necessary billing and administrative paperwork in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists, and case managers, to provide comprehensive client care.
  • Communicate effectively with family members, as appropriate, to support the client's treatment.
  • Participate in regular supervision and case consultation meetings to ensure clinical effectiveness and professional growth.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and training to stay current with best practices and emerging trends in the field of mental health.
  • Adhere to all agency policies, procedures, and ethical standards.



QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Full and unrestricted state licensure (e.g., Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)). (Recommended)
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience providing counseling services in a mental health setting.
  • Proven experience in providing individual and group therapy.
  • Strong knowledge of diagnostic criteria (e.g., DSM-5-TR) and clinical assessment tools.
  • Proficiency in a variety of evidence-based therapeutic modalities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Compassionate, empathetic, and professional demeanor.
