At RWM & Company, people matter most. We're a growing advisory and tax firm looking for an Advisory & Tax Client Manager with a strong background in both tax and accounting advisory, and a genuine interest in using AI and technology to deliver exceptional client service.

We live by five core values:

  • Gratitude — Focus on the good and be thankful every day.
  • Rise — Strive for excellence and take ownership.
  • Excellence — Deliver customer bliss through superior service.
  • Accountability — Own our words, actions, and results.
  • Teamwork — Together we are stronger.

The Role

As Advisory & Tax Client Manager, you'll serve as the primary point of contact for a portfolio of small business owners and high-net-worth individuals, delivering both Tax Advisory Services (TAS) and Client Accounting Advisory Services (CAAS). You'll use AI tools to work more efficiently and surface insights for clients, while supervising junior staff and leading client-facing meetings.

What You'll Actually Do

The role splits into four areas. The mix shifts over time: more hands-on production early, more portfolio leadership as you prove out the seat.

Own a Portfolio of Tax & Advisory Clients

  • Serve as the trusted advisor to a book of business owners and high-net-worth individuals in trades, real estate, healthcare, and professional services. Year-round cadence, not just a filing relationship.
  • Lead client meetings for tax planning, accounting strategy, and implementation, and own the follow-through.
  • Make the judgment calls on tax strategy, entity structure, timing, compensation, and the decisions wrapped around them.

Take On Senior-Level Production & Review

  • Prepare and review complex returns (1040, 1120-S, 1065) and financial statements.
  • Set the quality bar. Your review is the standard the team learns from.
  • Own outcomes end to end. The quality of the thinking, the clarity of the recommendation, and the delivery are yours.

Help Build the AI-Enabled Firm

  • Use and improve our stack. QuickBooks Online, UltraTax, Qount, Microsoft 365, and the AI tools we are actively building into tax document workflows, bookkeeping, planning, and quality control.
  • Find the leverage. Identify what can be automated and what must stay human judgment, then help build or adopt the tooling that frees the team for work that actually requires a brain.

Coach and Develop the Team

  • Review work and develop people. Teach, don't silently fix. Route comments back with the why, so preparers actually get better.
  • Model our core values in how you treat clients and teammates alike.

What You Bring

  • 5+ years of experience in public accounting, with a focus on both tax preparation and accounting advisory
  • CPA, EA, or a tax-focused advanced degree (LLM/JD)
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
  • Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks) and a genuine interest in applying AI/technology to improve client service
  • Ability to work from our New Bloomfield and/or Wormselyburg office at least 2 days/week

Benefits

  • Generous PTO
  • Retirement plan with company contributions
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Continuing education and career development support
  • A team environment built around our core values
