Position Overview

TIC Power is seeking a Continuous Improvement (CI) Specialist to drive operational excellence and support strategic improvement initiatives across power generation and industrial construction projects. This position partners with project teams, operations leadership, and functional departments to identify opportunities for process improvement, reduce waste, improve productivity, and enhance project execution through data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement methodologies.

The CI Specialist will facilitate improvement initiatives, implement best practices, analyze performance data, and support a culture of continuous learning and operational excellence throughout the organization.

District Overview

TIC Power (TICP) is a subsidiary of Kiewit Corporation that provides direct-hire construction services for Power Generation utilizing a non-union craft force. Strength in estimating and pre-project planning. Constructing cogeneration, combined-cycle, geothermal and waste-to-energy generation and resource facilities. TIC Power builds major EPC power plant projects throughout North America.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and facilitate continuous improvement initiatives across construction projects and operational functions.
  • Identify process inefficiencies and opportunities to improve safety, quality, productivity, cost, and schedule performance.
  • Utilize Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and other continuous improvement methodologies to drive measurable results.
  • Analyze project performance metrics and operational data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to support decision making.
  • Partner with project leadership, field operations, engineering, procurement, project controls, and support departments to implement process improvements.
  • Conduct value stream mapping, root cause analysis, workflow assessments, and process audits.
  • Facilitate workshops, process reviews, lessons learned sessions, and improvement events.
  • Support standardization efforts by documenting best practices, procedures, and operational processes.
  • Develop change management and communication plans to support successful implementation of improvement initiatives.
  • Track project savings, efficiency gains, and operational benefits resulting from continuous improvement activities.
  • Provide coaching and training to employees on continuous improvement tools, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Assist with strategic initiatives focused on operational excellence, workforce development, and business performance improvements.
  • Support implementation and adoption of digital tools, automation initiatives, and technology-driven solutions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in continuous improvement, operations excellence, construction, industrial, manufacturing, energy, or related environments.
  • Experience leading process improvement initiatives with measurable business impact.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience interpreting operational and project performance data.
  • Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, Root Cause Analysis, and process mapping methodologies.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and Power BI skills.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Ability to influence teams across multiple levels of the organization.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites and operating locations as needed.
