Responsibilities

The Assistant Front Office Manager plays a key leadership role within the Front Office team, assisting in the day-to-day management and operations of the department. This position is responsible for ensuring seamless guest service, supervising front desk and overnight staff, and enhancing the overall guest experience by ensuring service excellence and operational efficiency. You will act as a leader, mentor, and problem solver, coordinating with various departments to ensure smooth operations and guest satisfaction, while maintaining company and departmental standards.

WHAT YOU'LL DO AS A CANYON RANCH COLLEAGUE:

  • Oversee daily operations of the Front Office including Front Desk, Guest Services, and overnight operations.

  • Ensure excellent guest service by proactively addressing and resolving guest concerns and complaints.

  • Supervise, coach, and develop team members.

  • Assist in recruiting, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and training new team members.

  • Prepare and manage departmental schedules and approve payroll submissions.

  • Conduct daily pre-shift briefings and facilitate cross-departmental coordination.

  • Monitor room inventory, rates, and occupancy in collaboration with the Revenue or Reservations department to maximize revenue opportunities.

  • Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and safety standards.

  • Serve as Manager on Duty as needed.

  • Maintain a professional presence in the lobby and front desk areas to support staff and interact with guests.

  • Ensure accurate handling of guest information, billing, and payment procedures.

  • Support and uphold brand standards and service culture at all times.


Qualifications

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL: 

  • 3+ years of experience in a hotel, resort, destination spa, or related hospitality environment.

  • 1 year in a front office supervisory or leadership position required.

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality Management or a related field preferred.

  • Equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience will be considered.

  • Strong leadership and team-building skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Proficient in property management systems (PMS), Opera, MS Office Suite, and/or other hospitality software.

  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and ability to handle guest issues with professionalism.

  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

  • Position requires a clean drivers record and may be required to transport guests.
