PURPOSE OF POSITION

Have an understanding of the different paints and chemicals, and the respective processes required to paint correct parts, components, and products as scheduled according to the supervisor.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.


More specifically, the employee owner will:

  • Make sure all chemicals are stored, used, and disposed of properly
  • Paint all required products correctly, and with exceptional quality 
  • Assist in ordering paint and paint related equipment, as needed
  • Continually participate in additional training related to the job
  • Clean and maintain paint booth and equipment
  • Change thinner and paint when necessary
  • Color code product when specified
  • Perform required preventative maintenance for work area and paint booth and system
  • Record manometer readings and paint waste daily
  • Perform all activities in a manner that protects and promotes the health, safety and welfare of fellow workers, the community and the environment. Know and observe all plant safety rules applicable to your work. Report all unsafe practices and conditions to your supervisor at the first opportunity.
  • Strive to achieve the highest possible product quality.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Know how to read a tape measure.
  • Basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills required.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work safely in a production environment required.
  • Demonstrated ability to read/interpret/follow instructions regarding workplace documentation, such as SOP’s, Operator Manuals, Work Instructions, etc.
  • Regular, consistent attendance.

 

EDUCATION – EXPERIENCE – COMPUTER SKILLS 

  • High school diploma or a general education degree (GED); or
  • One to three months related experience and/or training; or
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

 

TRAINING – CERTIFICATIONS – LICENSES 

  • Continually participate in additional training related to the job.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision.
  • Specific hearing abilities required for this job include the ability to hear equipment alarms and the ability to hear instructions from others.


ENVIRONMENTAL ADAPTABILITY

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually LOUD.
  • Consistently work will take place in moderate temperature to humid.
  • Frequent exposure to heat, cold, humidity and industrial equipment. 
  • Respirator or hood use will be required
  • Steel-toe safety shoes, safety glasses, and hearing protection
