DESCRIPTION: Provide days off coverage for houseparents while maintaining continuity of structure and expectations in the home. Support lead houseparents in areas needed. There will be times coverage will be for more than one house for periods of time. Support other staff in their tasks.

 

 RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Operate the homes in a manner consistent with Gateway Woods policies, state regulations, and according to the houseparent team leader’s rules and expectations in order to maintain treatment consistency.
  • Supervise the residents in all activities, including, but not limited to, school, work, recreation, church, and community.
  • Transport residents to the above activities, as well as for passes and appointments. 
  • Understand and administer the treatment plan for each resident under your supervision.
  • Provide for the physical, spiritual, and emotional needs of the residents.
  • Assist with all aspects of the intake process for residents who may be placed in their house. 
  • Maintain complete and accurate records as required by Gateway Woods.
  • Show hospitality to day and overnight visitors.
  • Support the houseparents as required, especially on morning shift.
  • Cooperate and communicate with, and support other staff members as they perform their roles and responsibilities.
  • Attend staff meetings, team meetings, training, seminars, and other required events.
  • Maintain confidentiality concerning both staff and resident issues.
  • Perform other duties assigned by supervisor.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Be a member of the Apostolic Christian Church in good standing with the support of his or her local elder.
  • Be a high school graduate and at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license
  • Possess good communication skills, teamwork skills, self-motivation and flexibility.
  • Be sensitive to the special emotional and physical needs of Gateway Woods residents.
  • Have a dedication and love for young people.
  • Be married at least one year and show respect and esteem for each other.
