Job Description:

Position Summary:

This position is responsible for all activities associated with the setup, process run and tear down of injection mold equipment. 

2nd Shift: 3:00pm - 11:30pm

3rd Shift: 11:00pm – 7:30am

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Promotes an atmosphere conscience of health, safety and environmental practices, in support of the Leonard HSE/EMS policies on a daily basis.

  • Performs daily job duties to the objectives outlined in the Quality Policy.

  • Understands and performs daily job duties in a manner which supports the Plant goals and Quality objectives.

  • Set-up/tear down (changeover) and process injection mold tooling and equipment per the job book and per the PC&L molding press schedule.

  • Verify all associated job documentation is accurate, posted and filled out per the process work instructions. (Start up process verification log)

  • Maintain material and other process parameters at each assigned injection press area.

  • 6S equipment and injection process area including any TPM activities per established frequencies.

  • Assist Molding Quality Operators as needed.  Ensure first/last shot sign off occurs.

  • Assist in production reporting as needed.

  • Communicate concerns to Quality and Engineering as required (Mold repair requests – green sheet)

  • Assist in monitoring, communicating and improving process part containment and process improvements through Lean manufacturing projects.

 Education and Qualifications:

  • Ability to operate a forklift/powered lift equipment and overhead crane.

  • Previous injection molding experience preferred.

  • High School Diploma / GED

Work Environment/Work Conditions:

  • Production Floor environment

  • Must wear proper personal protection equipment while on manufacturing floor

  • Equipment used requires proper training on the potential for and avoidance of injury
