Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and results-driven Quality Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in ensuring that all products meet or exceed internal and customer quality requirements. This individual will be responsible for inspecting components, monitoring production processes, conducting audits, and working closely with cross-functional teams to support continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Inspect incoming raw materials, in-process components, and finished products for compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
  • Utilize inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and CMMs to perform precise measurements.
  • Document inspection results and maintain accurate quality records in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify and report non-conformances and collaborate with production teams to implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Conduct internal audits of processes and procedures to ensure compliance with ISO 9001, AS9100, or other applicable standards.
  • Support root cause analysis and continuous improvement projects using tools such as 8D, 5 Whys, and Fishbone diagrams.
  • Participate in first article inspections (FAI) and production part approval process (PPAP) submissions, when applicable.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of quality documentation including inspection plans, SOPs, and work instructions.
  • Train operators and technicians on quality standards, best practices, and inspection procedures.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or technical certification in Quality, Manufacturing, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 2-4 years of experience in quality assurance or quality control within a manufacturing environment; sheet metal or metal fabrication experience highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and GD&T.
  • Experience with precision measuring equipment and inspection tools.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001, AS9100, or similar quality management systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Working knowledge of ERP/MRP and quality software (e.g., SPC tools, QMS systems) is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 30 pounds frequently.
  • Comfortable working in a shop floor environment around machinery and fabrication equipment.
