Job Summary: The Night Auditor is responsible for closing the business day by balancing revenues and receipts, performing bookkeeping activities, and providing guest services such as check-ins, check-outs, and addressing guest inquiries, ensuring a smooth overnight operation of the hotel.Ā 

Ā 

Essential Functions and Duties:Ā 

  • Greet, register, and assign rooms to hotel guests.Ā 

  • Verify customer payment methods and process credit authorizations.Ā 

  • Maintain accurate records of room availability and guest accounts using the property management system.Ā 

  • Balance daily receipts and revenues, conducting income audits on posted revenues.Ā 

  • Assist guests with check-out processes, reviewing accounts and resolving discrepancies.Ā 

  • Answer phone calls promptly, directing inquiries or addressing guest needs.Ā 

  • Coordinate with overnight housekeeping or maintenance staff to resolve guest issues.Ā 

  • Make and confirm reservations, ensuring accurate data entry.Ā 

  • Provide guests with information on hotel services and local attractions.Ā 

  • Document guest feedback and escalate issues to management when necessary.Ā 

  • Perform nightly ā€œbucket checksā€ to ensure compliance with hotel standards.Ā 

  • Assist in maintaining security and safety during overnight shifts by monitoring guest activity and access.Ā

Required Experience, Education, and Skills:Ā 

  • Previous experience in a hospitality or customer service role preferred.Ā 

  • Proficiency in basic bookkeeping and balancing financial transactions.Ā 

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.Ā 

  • Proficient in using property management systems and office software.Ā 

  • Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills.Ā 

  • Ability to work independently and make decisions with minimal supervision.Ā 

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.Ā 

Work Environment:Ā 

  • Primarily indoor work, with occasional standing, walking, and lifting of items up to 10 lbs.Ā 

  • Frequent use of computers and telephones,requiring extended periods of sitting.Ā 

  • Must be available to work overnight shifts, including weekends and holidays.Ā
