Job Title: Construction - Senior Project Manager

Location: Richmond VA – Onsite daily at construction site

Department: Operations

Reports To: VP of Operations

 

SUMMARY

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Construction - Senior Project Manager to oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of low voltage systems installation projects from inception to completion. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge of low voltage systems, proven leadership skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring quality, safety, budget compliance, and client satisfaction.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Duties include, but are not limited to the following:

Project Management & Planning

  • Develop, manage, and execute detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets for low voltage installation projects.
  • Coordinate resources, equipment, and materials to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery.
  • Review project specifications, drawings, and contracts to confirm compliance with scope and requirements.

Leadership & Coordination

  • Direct and supervise field crews, subcontractors, and vendors, ensuring all work meets quality standards and safety protocols.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders.
  • Facilitate regular project meetings to track progress, resolve issues, and communicate updates.

Technical Oversight

  • Oversee installation of low voltage systems including (but not limited to): BMS panels, BMS conduit, Ethernet cabling, peripheral devices, terminations.
  • Ensure installations meet all applicable codes, industry standards, and manufacturer specifications.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and provide solutions to maintain project timelines.

Quality, Safety & Compliance

  • Enforce company safety policies and OSHA standards on all job sites.
  • Conduct inspections to ensure adherence to design, safety, and quality requirements.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate project documentation, including daily reports, change orders, and closeout packages.

 

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, Electrical Engineering, or related field preferred (or equivalent industry experience).
  • 7+ years of experience managing low voltage or electrical construction projects.
  • Strong understanding of low voltage systems, installation methods, and industry best practices.
  • 5-10 years' experience w/Building Control Systems

Competencies

  • Strong level of comfort with being on a construction site.
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills.
  • Strong leadership and team coordination abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in project management software, scheduling tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documents.

Certifications (Preferred)

  • OSHA 30-hour construction safety certification
  • Manufacturer-specific system certifications

 

Working Conditions

  • Mix of office, site visits, and on-site project supervision.
  • Travel to multiple project locations as required.
  • Ability to work extended hours or weekends as needed to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to walk and stand for long periods.
