Field Engineer I

RK&K is looking for a self-motivated graduate, Field Engineer I in our Richmond, VA office. As a Field Engineer I with RK&K you will support civil construction projects related to aviation, highway, roadway, bridge and related facilities.  

Essential Functions 

• Coordination of a variety of construction projects where the principals and methods of engineering apply to consultation, investigation, evaluation, planning, design of public or private utilities, structures, machines, equipment, processes, transportation systems and work systems.  
• Communication with internal team and external clients 
• Accurate logging of activities on work site
• Running point on inspections of facilities and infrastructure 

Required Skills and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related engineering field
• Zero to two years of experience in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
• Previous internship experience in construction management or civil engineering
• Practical application of engineering procedures in roadway design/construction, schedules, claims avoidance, claims mitigation, cost estimating and reporting
• Ability to coordinate simultaneous tasks
• Proficiency in communicating technical information
• Effective verbal and written communication skills 

Preferred Skills and Experience

• EIT license or the ability to obtain within 6 months
