We are looking for a highly organized and safety-conscious Assistant Operations Manager to join our team. Within this role, success will be demonstrated through the ability to be a "boots-on-the-ground" leader while practicing the highest level of discretion.Â
Â
You will be responsible for the technical administration, safety compliance, and strategic coordination of all warehouse operations, including crane yard operations when applicable.
Â
Duties:
- Acting as Team Lead in warehouse operations, which involves helping the Operations Manager delegate tasks, manage workflow, and prioritize urgent assignments.
- Manage the flow of materials within the warehouse and, when applicable, the crane yard.
- Conduct routine inspections of heavy machinery/equipment and report any maintenance or safety issues.
- Exercise best practices and enforce safety protocols regarding forklift operations, OSHA Compliance and, when applicable, crane yard operations.
- Collaborate with the Operations Manager to review warehouse performance, implement feedback, and train new hires across warehouse operations to ensure safety and compliance.
- Support internal development and process improvement.
- Assist in managing inventory control, such as performing cycle counts, resolving inventory discrepancies, and assisting with the layout of the warehouse and crane yard storage.
- Assist with other warehouse or crane yard-based administrative activities as needed.
Â
Experience:
- Preferred 3–5 years in a Warehouse Lead or Supervisory role.
- Preferred 3-5 years operating a sit-down forklift.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations and inventory control.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to relay information in a timely manner.
- Demonstrated ability to understand, implement, and uphold safety protocols.
- Proven ability to lead a diverse team in a fast-paced, industrial environment.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite products (including Excel and Teams).
