Job DetailsJob Location: Colorado Premium Lewisburg - Lewisburg, TN 37091Position Type: Full TimeSummary: As a member of the Management Team, the Engineering and Maintenance Manager leads the strategic maintenance plan, maintenance safety program and management of the repair and maintenance budget for the facility. Support production efforts by providing technical support to the plant management team on maintenance strategies, project work, and equipment issues. Responsible for planning and executing the maintenance, installation, and/or repair of all physical property, including refrigeration system, wastewater operations, mechanical systems, and buildings.                Essential Duties and Responsibilities:   Provide maintenance perspective to process flow, production layout and material flow to develop high efficiency operations. Develop and implement capital projects to improve safety, correct deficiencies, improve efficiency, increase output, support new products and/or reduce cost. Prepare and solicit bids, award contracts, and manage projects to completion. Provide monthly reports updating the status of capital projects.  Support daily plant operations by providing direction and collaboration with direct reports. Ensure the facility properly manages the repair, installation and maintenance of machinery, conveyors and equipment and the physical building to minimize downtime. Constantly be aware and suggest engineering changes to improve plant efficiency. Select engineering techniques to solve problems and make design or process recommendations. Contribute to successful design or process completion by participating in the resolution of issues such as conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of standard material, and difficult coordination requirements. Assist in determining scope and objectives to contribute to the development of a comprehensive project design or process. Supervise contractors ensuring compliance with bid specifications and compliance with all EHS policies while onsite. Supervise the installation of all capital equipment. Ensure successful completion of the assignment or phase assignment within the budgeted time and cost constraints. Direct preparation of appropriate documentation. Control maintenance and capital budgets within the established guidelines.  Develop, implement, and maintain the plant’s overall preventative and predictive maintenance program by ensuring that equipment receives scheduled maintenance. Implement the necessary training of maintenance employees for the satisfactory maintenance of the plant and facilities. Provide solutions for equipment failures to minimize downtime. Keep adequate records and drawings of all new, existing, or modified plant equipment, buildings, and utilities. Champion health and safety by maximizing a safe environment and maintaining a trained workforce. Comply with all regulatory agency regulations with respect to the engineering function. Provides supervision and guidance to maintenance employees. Effectively monitor and analyze maintenance KPI’s. Implement corrective and preventive actions to improve the reliability and performance of team members. Manage maintenance work orders to ensure they are completed on time and within budget.  Oversee the implementation of the maintenance skills assessment program ensuring mechanic capabilities and skills are accurately assessed, documented, and development plans are established. Ability to lead and motivate a team of managers, supervisors, and production staff, while building a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement. Coach and develop plant manager direct reports as needed to drive operational performance. Collaborate with other departments to support company goals and initiatives. Identify and eliminate risks that could impact manufacturing operations, ensuring business continuity. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or the equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. 5-10 years of plant maintenance management experience, preferably in food manufacturing. Ability to interpret miscellaneous mechanical drawings and schematics, and to develop and administer a functional Preventative Maintenance (PM) program. Minimum of 7+ years of progressive leadership in a food manufacturing operations role. Demonstrated floor leadership impacting both operations and maintenance performance Strong overall business knowledge and critical thinking along with problem-solving and analytical skills Deep understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical processes in a manufacturing environment. Experience with electrical systems, conveyors, power equipment vehicles within a manufacturing facility.  Experience with writing and implementing capital projects. Excellent reading, communication, and organizational skills. Must be proficient in the use of a Personal Computer (PC) and related business software. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.  Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other associates of the organization.
