Job Description

  

Summary

Performs X-ray inspection and water wash operations on electronic and mechanical assemblies in accordance with manufacturing procedures, quality requirements, and safety regulations. Responsible for ensuring product conformance through inspection, cleaning, handling, and documentation while maintaining compliance with radiation safety procedures and company policies. X-ray operators must complete required training and follow established radiation safety requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Perform X-ray inspection of components, subassemblies, and finished products in accordance with manufacturing instructions and inspection criteria.
  • Operate X-ray equipment safely and in compliance with radiation safety procedures.
  • Maintain required inspection records, logs, and documentation.
  • Follow established procedures for operation, startup, shutdown, and routine equipment checks.
  • Perform water wash and cleaning operations on assemblies and components using approved equipment, materials, and processes.
  • Inspect products for cleanliness, workmanship, and compliance with specifications.
  • Handle parts and assemblies carefully to prevent damage and contamination.
  • Identify and report nonconforming materials, equipment issues, or process concerns to supervision.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with 5S and safety requirements.
  • Follow all Quality Management System, ESD, safety, environmental, and radiation protection requirements.
  • Support production schedules and meet department throughput goals.
  • Assist with inventory, material movement, and other manufacturing activities as needed.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Education and/or Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Manufacturing, inspection, or electronics production experience preferred 0-5.
  • Previous X-ray inspection experience preferred.
  • Experience working with manufacturing documentation and work instructions preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to read and interpret work instructions, drawings, and specifications.
  • Basic computer and data entry skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Knowledge of radiation safety practices is preferred.
