Job Description

The Kinetic Group is a world leader in the design, manufacturing, and distribution of small caliber ammunition under the iconic brands B&P, CCI, Federal Premium, Fiocchi, HEVI-Shot, Remington and Speer. We have domestic ammunition manufacturing facilities in Minnesota, Idaho, Arkansas, and Missouri, and service law enforcement, government agencies and sporting enthusiasts throughout the world. Today, The Kinetic Group is a part of the Ammo+ division of The Czechoslovak Group (CSG), which holds a diverse portfolio of companies in the defense, security, automotive, aerospace and rail industries.  

 

The Sr. Quality Engineer role drives cross‑functional problem solving, advanced statistical analysis, and gaging studies to support product and process excellence. Key responsibilities include leading DMAIC‑based initiatives, managing ISO 9001 internal audits, developing data‑driven quality reports, implementing effective corrective actions, and continuously improving process control.

This position reports to the Quality Assurance Senior Manager and is based out of our Lewiston, ID office.    

  

What you’ll do:

  • Facilitating cross functional problem-solving meetings.  Track open action items, keep the team focused on the current problem and moving forward utilizing the DMAIC model.

  • Perform GR&R studies and assist with gage fixture design and prove-out.  Research and recommend improved gaging equipment. 

  • Provide statistical study design and analysis.  Examples: full and fractional factorial designs, t & F tests, regression, power analysis and sample size selection.

  • Develop reports based on data from multiple systems to highlight quality issues.

  • Assure the effectiveness of the business management system by active participation on the internal ISO 9001 audit team. 

  • Actively improve and simplify existing processes and process control plans.

  • Write root cause and corrective action reports for customer complaints.

  • Act as designated substitute QA Manager in the QA Manager’s absence.

  • Continued professional development. 

  • Work with minimal supervision, establish priority and meet scheduled completion dates.

  • May include supervising direct reports. 

  • Performs other related duties as assigned

 

Experience you bring: 

  • BS in Engineering, Science, Math or Statistics.

  • 5+ years’ experience in manufacturing quality assurance function.

  • 9 semester hours of applied statistics or equivalent certified training.

  • Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization.

 
You might have: 

  • ASQ certification CQE

  • Any other ASQ Certification

  • VBA programing in Excel

  • Familiarity with ANSI/ASQ Z1.4

  • Working knowledge of Minitab

  • ISO 9001 auditor or equivalent

 

 

Work Environment:

Employee work assignments may include tasks working with and/or exposure to potentially hazardous areas, including flammables and explosives. Safety training is provided to all employees to ensure compliance with company and federal regulations.

Pay Range:

$82,600.00 - $115,700.00

The actual annual salary offered to a candidate will be based on variables including experience, geographic location, education, and skills/achievements, and will be mutually agreed upon at the time of offer.
