Job
The Brand Merchandiser is responsible for curating, sourcing, and managing branded merchandise that aligns with clients' marketing strategies and brand identity. This role includes collaborating with vendors to deliver high-quality, customized products, and analyzing market trends to recommend innovative promotional items. The Brand Merchandiser ensures all merchandise resonates with the target audience and meets budget, quality, and compliance standards.
Essential Functions
•   Communicate directly with clients to understand product needs and ensure alignment with their branding and design guidelines.
•   Conduct product research and collaborate with production partners to generate ideas.
•   Create and present tailored product recommendations and presentations to clients.
•   Leverage Geiger’s preferred suppliers to align product selections and maximize supplier incentives.
•   Negotiate program pricing (blanket quotes) and maintain the Production Partner Portal.
•   Focus on maintaining healthy product margins to enhance overall program profitability.
•   Manage core product collections and market-specific sub-collections, optimizing for faster time-to-market.
•   Promote Geiger's Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) objectives by guiding clients toward sustainable product options.
•   Ensure adherence to product safety laws and Geiger’s labeling and testing requirements.
•   Stay informed on industry trends and participate in relevant tradeshows and conferences.
•   Attend platinum vendor meetings and cultivate strong relationships with key suppliers.
•   Analyze data related to product usage, sales performance, and profitability.
•   Collaborate with creative teams and other departments as needed to execute merchandising plans.
•   Work closely with the Sr. Client Engagement Specialist to align ongoing merchandising strategies with client needs.
•   Recommend seasonal and campaign products for client approval.
•   Assist the Business Development team with Requests for Proposals (RFPs) related to product selection and presentations when necessary.Â
Education and Experience
•   Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in merchandising, marketing, or a related field, or 2 plus years of industry experience in areas such as pricing, supply chain management, and product sourcing.
Competencies and Skills
•   In-depth knowledge of promotional products, materials, decoration techniques, and production processes.
•   Expertise in pricing strategies, including markups and maintaining competitive yet profitable pricing.
•   Experience optimizing product listings, images, and descriptions for online platforms.
•   Ability to integrate branding elements such as logos and colors effectively on promotional products.
•   Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Canva, with general computer skills.
•   Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
•   Proficient in written and verbal communication.
Physical Requirements
•   Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk or computer.
•   Typing and using a computer keyboard for extended periods.
•   Communication with customers and sales reps via person, phone, email, and video call.

Certification
•   Master Advertising Specialist (MAS), Promotional Products Association International
