Job DetailsJob Location: Mikes Mechanical Services - Lewiston, ID 83501Position Type: Full Time Position: Installer Apprentice                                             Reports To: Install Manager Purpose The Installer is responsible for installation of HVAC equipment into residential customer’s homes including but not limited to furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, air handlers, fireplaces, geothermal systems, ductless mini splits, pellet stoves, water heaters and other related components. Position: Installer Apprentice Location: On site Shift: Monday – Friday - 7:00am to 4:00pm Compensation: $ 18.00 to $25.00 DOE Level: Entry Level Benefits: Medical, dental, and vision 100% paid by the employer, 401K with up to a 4% employer match, paid holidays, vacation time. Position Type: Full-time Essential Job Functions Install HVAC equipment into residential customer homes per manufacturer specifications, company policy, local and state required codes. Effectively perform the functions of equipment troubleshooting, installation, start-up, operation and other duties as required to ensure customer satisfaction. Quality Standardization of flex and sheet metal duct systems in residential buildings to AMI Quality Standards, required code and job specifications. Perform installation of refrigerant lines to air conditioning units, including brazing and soldering. Ensure gas line connections and fittings to are properly secured. Perform metal and wood hole cutting, framing and nailing outlets as required by job specifications. Ensure functionality of thermostats to control HVAC system is operational. Verify all materials and equipment required for each scheduled job and load into company vehicle. Perform all duties in accordance with appropriate safety trainings and regulations as defined by company policy and procedure. Ensure that company vehicle is maintained and operated in accordance to company driving policy. Provide knowledge, training and guidance to Install Helpers to assist in the development of skills necessary to perform HVAC installation job requirements. Participate and attend all required employee meetings and trainings. Other duties as assigned. Work Hours This is a non-exempt position. Work hours to be determined based on the needs of the business. Overtime may be required to meet business needs. Competencies This position requires strong time management skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to maintain a high level of professionalism and customer service standards in stressful situations. This position requires the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and written.  This position requires a self-starter with excellent problem-solving, analytical skills and mechanical aptitude. Education and Experience Six months of prior HVAC installation experience desired. Requires a high school diploma and/or any equivalent of education and experience to meet the essential functions of the job. Must have a valid driver’s license and remain insurable under our company insurance policy. Work Environment Frequently works in outside weather conditions. May be exposed to uncomfortable temperatures and/or conditions. Occasionally exposed to hot, wet and/humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and vibration. Moderately loud noise level while in the field. Occasionally exposed to dark, confined workspaces such as attics or crawl spaces.  May be required to perform work from ladders and heights. Physical Demands Moderate to heavy working conditions. Frequently required to stand, talk and hear. Constantly required to use hand and fingers to feel, handle or operate objects, tools, or controls and reach with hands and arms. Frequently required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and walk. Frequently required to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Periods of prolonged standing may be required. Supervisory Responsibility No direct supervisory responsibility. Will provide support to Supervisor with training and guidance for Install Helpers. All questionable matters are referred to Supervisor.   Travel Regular travel should be expected between Mikes and job sites. Qualifications
