POSITION SUMMARY:
A Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) acts as a liaison between patients and the medical staff ensuring that patients receive consistent, high-quality care. CNAs provide basic patient care, assisting with activities of daily living, monitoring vital signs, and supporting overall patient well-being under the supervision of a licensed nurse.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with the patient admission process.
- Collect patient information including family medical histories.
- Take patients’ vital signs such as blood pressure and heart rate.
- Help patients dress/undress or use the bathroom as needed.
- Turn or reposition patients who are confined to a bed.
- Assist patients with food and/or hydration.
- Clean rooms, make beds and stock supplies.
- Perform basic medical tasks including wound care and catheter care.
- Assist with patient transfers and discharges.
- Monitor patients for signs of illness or infection.
- Demonstrate a clear understanding of regulations applicable to patient care and/or other Center functions.
- Maintain up-to-date and accurate documentation of patient care provided to ensure the integration of information for use by the healthcare team to ensure quality care.
- Follow the Center’s exposure control plans/blood borne and airborne pathogens.
- Able to problem solve in the presence of stressful situations/work environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
REQUIRED:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Graduate of an accredited CNA training program (per State requirements)
- CNA license
- BLS certification (as required by individual ASC policy)
PREFERRED:
- ASC experience
- Minimum one year CNA experience
