Basic Job Functions:
The accountant will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial information through various responsibilities. The primary focus will be on assisting with month-end close procedures, preparing journal entries, conducting balance sheet reconciliations, collaborating with subsidiaries for intercompany accounting transactions, and contributing to the monthly reporting process. The accountant will also assist in special projects, ad-hoc analysis and other initiatives as required by the finance team.
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 2+ years of general ledger accounting experience in US GAAP
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or direct related work experience
- Intermediate Excel skills
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship nor or in the future
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Microsoft D365 or similar ERP system
- Manufacturing accounting experience
