We’re seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Electro-Mechanical Assembler I to join our Modifications team. This role involves assembling, wiring, and installing electrical components on generator units and power subassemblies. The ideal candidate is comfortable reading electrical diagrams, using hand tools, and working hands-on in a non-climate-controlled warehouse environment.

 

This is a physically active role where precision, consistency, and adherence to safety are essential.

 

Rate: $21.00 - $22.00/hour
Shift: Monday - Thursday, 6:00AM - 4:30PM

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Electrical Assembly & Wiring

  • Assemble and install electrical components, including reconnection boards, terminal blocks, buss panels, engine DC, generator AC, and control switch panels.
  • Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and specifications to determine layout and assembly method.
  • Cut, route, comb, twist, wrap, tie, and attach wire and cables to terminal points using soldering guns and tools.
  • Crimp terminals, lugs, and sleeves onto wire ends using manual or machine crimpers.
  • Connect wiring to circuit breakers, relays, switches, solenoids, and plugs based on layout specifications.

 

Testing & Inspection

  • Perform continuity and functionality tests on completed electrical assemblies using test lights, ohmmeters, and electrical testing equipment.
  • Identify and correct wiring issues or faulty components prior to final quality checks.

 

Tools, Safety & Work Environment

  • Must provide and maintain personal hand tools (screwdrivers, sockets, wrenches, ratchets, pliers, etc.) and proper tool storage.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workstation and ensure compliance with company safety policies.
  • Work in tight or confined spaces as needed to complete assembly.
  • Must be available for overtime and weekend work as production demands require.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned in support of production goals.

Education and Work Experience Requirements

  • One-year certificate from a technical college or trade school, OR
  • 3–6 months of related work experience in electrical or mechanical assembly, OR
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams, schematics, and blueprints.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail, time management, and ability to work independently.

Language Skills

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one interactions with other employees.

Physical Requirements

This position is physically demanding and performed in a non-climate-controlled, industrial warehouse environment with exposure to loud noise, dust, and fluctuating temperatures.

  • Must be able to stand and walk for up to 10 hours per day.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, and working with hands and arms.
  • Regularly lift and move objects up to 50 lbs; occasionally lift up to 75 lbs.
  • Must be able to work in tight or awkward positions when assembling units.
  • Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, and operating in a high-paced, production-focused setting.
  • Hearing protection and PPE (provided) may be required due to high noise levels.
