Position Summary:
The Assistant Plant General Manager (AGM) supports the Plant General Manager (GM) in overseeing production, quality, safety, and maintenance activities. This role ensures that the plant operates efficiently, safely, and in compliance with regulatory and company standards. The AGM is a hands-on leader, actively involved in daily production operations and staff development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the GM in managing all plant operations, including production scheduling, quality control, and maintenance.
- Ensure products are produced and packaged according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and meet customer and company specifications.
- Supervise, guide, coach production staff to maintain a safe, efficient, and motivated workforce.
- Support quality assurance and food safety initiatives, including HACCP and GMP compliance.
- Monitor waste levels, production yields, and labor costs, and recommend process improvements.
- Assist with inventory management, equipment maintenance, and capital expenditure planning.
- Maintain accurate documentation of production, quality, and safety records.
- Participate in continuous product development and problem-solving activities.
- Collaborate with Maintenance and HR to ensure the safety of TX plant based on OSHA compliance.
- Support and communicate with JSOX team for TX plant
- Participate in weekly, monthly meetings with Japan HQ
- Perform other duties assigned by the GM or upper management.

Requirements and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in food science, engineering, business administration, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in a production leadership role within food manufacturing.
- Hands-on experience in a manual production environment.
- Strong knowledge of food safety programs, including GMP, HACCP, SQF, and OSHA regulations.
- Working knowledge of ERP and Microsoft Office products.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong analytical skills and continuous improvement of mind-set.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work on-site in a fast-paced environment, including weekends and overtime as needed.
- Fluent in both English and Japanese mandatory; Spanish language skills are a plus.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. The company does not provide visa sponsorship now or in the future.

To successfully perform the essential functions of this role, the employee must be able to do the following:
- Sit, stand, walk, bend, and climb as needed throughout the workday.
- Use hands and fingers for manual tasks and operating equipment.
- Drive motorized vehicles safely within the facility.
- Lift and carry items weighing up to 30 pounds.
- Have both close and distance vision to effectively perform job duties.
Work Environment & Workplace
The work environment involves daily exposure to unusual hot and cold temperatures, humidity, and/or noise. The employee is required to work in a warehouse environment.
