POSITION SUMMARY
Â
The primary purpose of this position is to oversee the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of the concrete batch plant. The Batch Plant Manager is responsible for production quality, equipment readiness, inventory control, and personnel supervision to ensure uninterrupted delivery of concrete that meets Company standards.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Â
- Assumes responsibility for the overall operation of the batch plant, ensuring consistent production of quality concrete in compliance with specifications and schedules.
- Directs and assigns work to batch plant operators and yard personnel.
- Ensures proper maintenance of batch plant equipment in coordination with the Equipment Manager and maintenance teams.
- Monitors raw material inventory levels (cement, aggregates, admixtures) and coordinates timely ordering and delivery.
- Ensures accurate batching, ticketing, and documentation of all loads produced.
- Implements and enforces quality control procedures for mix designs and finished product.
- Coordinates daily production schedules with dispatch, project managers, and operations leadership.
- Oversees plant housekeeping, site organization, and environmental compliance standards.
- Participates in budgeting and capital planning for plant upgrades, repairs, and improvements.
- Maintains operational records and reports related to production, downtime, maintenance, and staffing.

JOB SPECIFIC COMPENTENCIES

- Production Management: Manages daily batching operations to ensure accurate mix designs, efficient production flow, and on-time delivery to project sites. Effectively plans production schedules to meet customer demand while minimizing downtime and waste.
- Quality Control: Ensures compliance with approved mix designs and project specifications. Oversees proper documentation of batch tickets, testing results, and corrective actions related to rejected or non-conforming loads.
- Inventory & Materials Management: Monitors cement, aggregate, and admixture inventories to prevent shortages or overstock conditions. Coordinates with suppliers to maintain reliable material flow and controls material loss and waste.
- Equipment Readiness: Partners with maintenance and equipment teams to ensure batch plant systems, conveyors, silos, and loaders are properly maintained and available for production needs.
- Customer Focus: Responds promptly and professionally to internal and external customer needs. Works closely with dispatch, project managers, and field leadership to resolve production or delivery issues.
- Leadership & Workforce Management: Directs, coaches, and develops batch operators and yard personnel. Establishes clear performance expectations, supports training efforts, and promotes accountability and teamwork.
- Technology & Systems Utilization: Uses batching software, production tracking systems, and reporting tools to monitor output, identify trends, and support data-driven operational decisions.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Â
A minimum of 7 years of experience. Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or equivalent combination of education and experience concrete batch plant operations or related production environment required. Successful candidates must have the ability to interact and communicate effectively with others.Â

- Experience reading and interpreting documents such as plans and specifications, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
- Experience managing personnel.
- Outstanding leadership and high-level decision-making abilities.
- Working knowledge of Project Management software, Excel, Word, and Outlook.
