POSITION SUMMARY The Inside Sales Representative (ISR) is the front-line, primary selling role responsible for taking new Opportunities from first contact through to a closed deal. This is a process-oriented, Opportunity-focused, deal-closer role: the ISR drives sales by submitting proposals for new Opportunities and personally following up to close the sale, supported by dedicated personnel who handle data entry, research, and administrative pipeline tasks — freeing the ISR to focus on selling: engaging prospects, managing objections, and closing Opportunities. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Proposal Submission & Deal Closing Advance qualified Opportunities from proposal submission through to close Serve as the primary point of contact for the Opportunity, engaging prospects directly to understand needs, present VIVA's value, and address objections Proactively and persistently follow up after proposal submission to uncover feedback, resolve open items, and secure the win Negotiate terms and drive Opportunities to a signed, closed-won outcome Coordinate with the Estimating team on substitution requests and scope clarifications specific to each Opportunity Hand off won Opportunities cleanly to Project Management with complete, accurate documentation Support Collaboration Direct and prioritize the work of support personnel handling Opportunity data entry, CRM hygiene, research, and bid tracking Review and validate support-prepared materials before use in the sales process, ensuring a clean hand-off so no task or deadline is missed Pipeline Management & Reporting Maintain meticulous, real-time documentation of every Opportunity in Salesforce, including notes, next steps, and close dates Run and review pipeline and conversion reports to track close rates, flag at-risk deals, and keep every Opportunity staged and moving with a clear next action Qualifications Minimum 2 years' experience in building products, construction, or architectural specification sales, with a track record of closing deals Bachelor's degree in Construction, Architecture, Interior Design, Project Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience) Strong Opportunity management and closing skills, confident, tenacious, and resilient enough to drive a deal to a decision Proficiency with a CRM platform, preferably Salesforce, for disciplined pipeline and process management Excellent presentation, verbal, and written communication skills, with comfort directing the work of support resources
