Job DetailsJob Location: Lewisville - LEWISVILLE, TX 75057Department:  Operations / Production                       Job Status:   Full-Time FLSA Status:    Non-Exempt                                      Reports To:  Branch Manager   Work Schedule: Monday-Friday Days                       Positions Supervised: Production Employees Position Summary The Production Supervisor is responsible for leading daily manufacturing operations while fostering a culture of safety, accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement. This position oversees production employees across multiple manufacturing processes supporting various industries, including water jet cutting, wood routing, foam kitting, die cutting, assembly, and related operations. The successful candidate will be a highly visible leader who can motivate employees, develop teams, improve workforce stability, and drive operational performance. This individual must possess strong leadership and interpersonal skills, demonstrate sound judgment, effectively manage employee relations issues, and create an environment where employees are engaged, productive, and committed to achieving business goals. The Production Supervisor is expected to balance production demands with employee development, retention, quality expectations, and continuous improvement initiatives. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Production Leadership Direct and coordinate daily manufacturing activities to ensure safety, quality, delivery, and productivity objectives are achieved. Lead production employees across multiple manufacturing processes including water jet cutting, wood routing, foam kitting, die cutting, assembly, and packaging operations. Monitor workflow and staffing levels to meet customer requirements and production schedules. Ensure labor resources are effectively allocated to maximize efficiency and throughput. Address production issues quickly and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime and disruptions. Collaborate with Operations, Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, and Customer Service teams to support business objectives. Workforce Development & Employee Engagement Create a positive and engaging work environment that promotes accountability, teamwork, and employee ownership. Coach, mentor, and develop employees to improve performance, versatility, and advancement opportunities. Conduct regular employee communication meetings, shift huddles, and one-on-one coaching sessions. Identify and address employee concerns proactively while fostering trust and open communication. Partner with Human Resources on employee relations matters, attendance concerns, corrective actions, investigations, and workforce initiatives. Support recruiting, onboarding, training, and retention efforts. Champion workforce stabilization initiatives designed to reduce turnover, improve attendance, and strengthen employee engagement. Recognize and reward employee contributions and accomplishments. Safety & Compliance Promote and enforce a strong safety culture throughout the facility. Ensure employees follow all safety procedures, work instructions, and company policies. Conduct safety observations, investigations, and corrective actions as needed. Participate in safety committees, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives. Maintain compliance with OSHA requirements and company safety standards. Quality Management Ensure products meet customer specifications and quality requirements. Support root cause analysis and corrective action efforts related to quality concerns. Monitor scrap, rework, and process variation to improve operational performance. Reinforce adherence to standard operating procedures and quality standards. Performance Management Establish clear performance expectations and hold employees accountable for results. Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing coaching and feedback. Address attendance, conduct, and performance concerns promptly and professionally. Develop employee training plans and cross-training opportunities. Maintain accurate production, labor, and performance records. Continuous Improvement Identify opportunities to improve productivity, quality, safety, and employee engagement. Utilize data and metrics to drive decision-making and operational improvements. Participate in problem-solving teams and cost reduction initiatives. QualificationsQualifications/Requirements High School Diploma or GED Required. Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Minimum 3 years of direct supervisory experience managing hourly production employees. Minimum 5 years of manufacturing experience. Experience in industrial manufacturing or related industries preferred. Prove ability to motivate, engage, and develop employees. Strong coaching, mentoring, and conflict resolution skills. Ability to build trust and credibility with employees at all levels of the organization. Demonstrated success improving attendance, retention, employee engagement, and workforce performance. Strong emotional intelligence and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to effectively lead through change and organizational growth. Skilled in handling difficult conversations and employee relations matters professionally and respectfully. Understanding of manufacturing processes, production scheduling, and workflow management. Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies preferred. Experience utilizing ERP systems, production reporting systems, and Microsoft Office applications. Ability to analyze production data and identify performance improvement opportunities. Work Environment, Physical Requirements, & Safety Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout a manufacturing facility. Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures, noise levels, and production equipment.
