Regional Account Executive
Job Summary
The Regional Account Executive is responsible for driving multifamily business development and managing the full pre-construction sales lifecycle, from opportunity identification through project award. The position focuses on building strong relationships with general contractors, developers, and owners while developing and maintaining a robust pipeline of multifamily projects, including garden-style, podium, wrap, and build-to-rent communities.

The role collaborates closely with estimating teams to develop accurate and competitive bids across multiple product categories, ensuring complete scope coverage, appropriate margin strategies, and alignment with client expectations. It also leads proposal presentations, value engineering discussions, and contract negotiations to successfully secure new business.

Serving as the primary client contact during the pre-construction phase, this position maintains ongoing engagement, manages communications, and fosters long-term partnerships to drive repeat business. Internally, the role coordinates cross-functional efforts with estimating, purchasing, and operations teams to ensure seamless project handoff and execution.

Additionally, the position monitors market trends, pricing dynamics, and competitive activity to inform sales strategy and maintain a strong market position.

Essential Job Functions
Business Development & Sales
- Identify and pursue new multifamily opportunities (garden-style, podium, wrap, and BTR projects)
- Build and maintain relationships with:
- General Contractors
- Developers / Owners
- Generate and manage a consistent pipeline of projects
- Track and report on sales activity, forecasts, and project status
Project & Bid Management
- Work with estimating team to develop accurate, competitive proposals across all scopes:
- Flooring
- Cabinets
- Countertops
- Lighting
- Window coverings (blinds/shades)
- Appliances
- Trim & doors
- Review plans, specs, and scopes to ensure complete bid coverage
- Ensure proper margins and pricing strategies are applied
- Present proposals and value-engineering options to clients
Client Relationship Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact from pre-construction through project award
- Conduct regular check-ins with clients to maintain engagement
- Navigate negotiations, scope clarifications, and contract discussions
- Maintain long-term relationships to drive repeat business
Internal Coordination
- Collaborate with:
- Estimating
- Purchasing
- Operations / Project Management
- Ensure smooth handoff of awarded projects to operations team
- Communicate project expectations, timelines, and scope details internally
Market Intelligence
- Stay informed on:
- Market pricing and product trends
- Competitive landscape
- Product innovations and vendor offerings

Qualifications, Education, and Experience
- 2+ years of sales experience (multifamily, construction, or building materials preferred)
- Strong understanding of construction documents (plans & specifications)
- Proven ability to build and maintain professional relationships
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Organized with strong attention to detail
Preferred
- Experience selling multiple scopes (flooring, cabinets, etc.)
- Existing relationships in the multifamily industry
- Knowledge of installation processes and project timelines
- CRM experience (tracking pipeline, opportunities, and client activity)
