IT Internship

RMC is hiring for an IT Division Internship to support our headquarters in Lexington Park, MD. As an RMC intern, the selected student will receive mentorship, hands‑on experience, and exposure to real-world IT operations across emerging technology areas.

Essential Job Functions:

• Assist with the setup and configuration of user equipment
• Troubleshoot and repair computers, printers, peripherals, and related hardware issues
• Support automation initiatives, including basic Robotic Process Automation (RPA) tasks and workflow optimization
• Contribute to AI‑assisted IT support efforts such as ticket triage, knowledge base development, and process improvements
• Assist with Information Assurance (IA) activities including documentation, compliance support, and security best practices
• Perform other duties and project-based tasks as assigned

• Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5.
• Must be currently enrolled in, or recently graduated from, an accredited 2-year or 4-year college or university majoring in one of the following areas: Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or Information Technology.
• Eligible candidates include:
• Current students attending a Maryland higher education institution.
• Maryland residents attending an out-of-state college or university.
• Individuals who graduated from a Maryland higher education institution within the past 12 months (e.g., May 2024 graduates are eligible through May 2025).
• Open to students and recent graduates at all academic levels, including undergraduate, graduate, and PhD programs.
• Dual-enrolled high school students are eligible to apply.

• Candidates should possess strong interpersonal skills and be capable of working effectively as part of a team.

• Security Clearance: The chosen candidate must qualify for a DoD SECRET clearance. The selected individual may undergo a security investigation and must satisfy eligibility criteria to access classified information.

Salary at RMC is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, a candidate's specific combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific requirements. The current hourly range for this position will be $20-$23 an hour.
