Job Description Assembly Operator

Job Title: Assembly Operator

Department: Production

Reports to: Assembly Supervisor

FLSA Status: Exempt-Full time

Summary

The assembler uses a variety of tools to manufacture the products. An assembler is detailed oriented and is responsible for carrying out tasks to ensure all products made meet the standards of the BSP.  

Responsibilities

  • Assembling and testing all manufactured products prior to being shipped to the customer
  • Participating in continual training and development
  • Completing daily reports to indicate goods that have been shipped and to identify late orders
  • Reading and following basic diagrams, drawings, specifications, bills of material, and instructions to accurately assemble components into finished products
  • Assisting other Assemblers when required
  • Performing work in accordance with quality standards and safety procedures
  • Maintaining a safe, clean, and organized workspace or assembly station
  • Other duties as assigned



Requirements

 Qualifications

  • Teamwork skills and the ability to work independently
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Attention to detail to follow directions thoroughly
  • Ability to work quickly and efficiently while performing repetitive tasks
  • Ability to self-motivated 
  • On the job training


Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of standing up to 8 hours or more.
  • Must be able to lift and carry objects of varying sizes and weights
  • Spend significant time on their feet, walking the production floor
  • Bend, stoop, or kneel to access machinery, inspect products, or perform tasks at various heights.
  • Ability to follow safety guidelines. This includes using personal protective equipment (PPE) and identifying and mitigating safety hazards.
