 About the Role

The Referral Specialist provides essential administrative and patient support to our clinical and community programs. This team member is often the first point of contact for our patients—playing a critical role in creating a welcoming, supportive, and seamless experience.

Key Responsibilities

Patient & Client Support

  • Serve as the receptionist—warmly greet patients, distribute forms, and support a positive patient experience.
  • Handle inbound/outbound calls, provide accurate information, and direct individuals to the right services.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to patients, staff, and community members.

Registration & Scheduling

  • Register patients by collecting and verifying demographic, insurance, financial, and eligibility information.
  • Schedule both new and follow-up appointments.
  • Prepare, maintain, and file patient health records following program and service standards.

Administrative Operations

  • Maintain patient flow during clinic sessions.
  • Enter, store, and retrieve information using electronic systems; assist with routine reporting and data entry.
  • Manage office supply inventory and ensure materials are stocked and organized.
  • Collect service fees, process payments, and complete daily reconciliation.
  • Participate in community outreach activities representing the organization.
  • Perform additional tasks to support department needs.
  • May require occasional evenings or weekends.

 Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or GED. 
  • Bilingual candidates encouraged! Preferred Spanish conversing, but not required.
