Forge Construction is the in-house construction arm of Denton Floyd Real Estate Group, delivering ground-up multifamily, senior living, and mixed-use developments across the region. Working alongside Vector Design Group and Denton Floyd's development and property management teams, Forge manages projects from preconstruction through turnover, holding the schedule, budget, and quality bar that Denton Floyd communities are known for.

The Assistant Project Manager supports the project management team in the day-to-day coordination of ground-up construction projects, from mobilization through closeout. This is a developing role for a construction professional building toward full Project Manager responsibility — working closely with the Project Manager, Superintendent, and Preconstruction team to keep documentation, subcontractor communication, and reporting on track so the field can execute without friction.

Key Responsibilities:

•      Support the Project Manager in maintaining the project schedule, budget, and cost-to-complete reporting

•      Prepare, track, and distribute RFIs, submittals, and shop drawings, following up to keep response times on pace

•      Assist in drafting and processing subcontractor change orders, potential change orders, and owner change order requests

•      Maintain project documentation, including contracts, drawings, specifications, and daily/weekly reports

•      Attend and help prepare for OAC (Owner-Architect-Contractor) meetings, tracking and following up on action items

•      Coordinate material procurement and delivery logistics with subcontractors and vendors

•      Support the buyout process, including subcontractor scope review and contract exhibit preparation

•      Track punch list items through completion and assist with substantial completion and certificate of occupancy documentation

•      Assist with pay application review, lien waiver collection, and closeout document assembly

•      Maintain project files and reporting within Procore (or equivalent project management software)

•      Build working relationships with subcontractors, vendors, and the design team to support project delivery

Required Qualifications:

•      Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field, or equivalent field experience

•      1–3 years of experience in commercial or multifamily construction, including internship or field experience

•      Working knowledge of construction documents, specifications, and the RFI/submittal process

•      Strong organizational skills and comfort managing multiple workstreams and deadlines simultaneously

•      Clear written and verbal communication skills

•      Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)

•      Willingness to travel to jobsites as needed

Preferred Qualifications:

•      Experience with Procore or similar construction project management software

•      Exposure to ground-up multifamily or senior living construction

•      Familiarity with LIHTC/affordable housing project requirements

•      OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification

Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience. Forge Construction offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) with company match, paid time off, and opportunities for professional development and advancement within Denton Floyd's construction platform.
