Position Overview

As part of the Donor Resources Department, the Account Manager is responsible for owning and growing a defined territory. This role focuses on managing and expanding existing blood drive accounts, strengthening relationships, maximizing account performance, and identifying new partnership opportunities.

The Account Manager works closely with internal teams and external partners to meet and exceed collection goals while serving as a trusted advisor to sponsor organizations. This role is centered around building strong, long-term relationships, driving engagement, and ensuring successful, well-executed blood drives.

Provides strategic, consistent, and proactive support to blood drive coordinators through thoughtful planning, effective use of marketing and recruitment tools, donor appointment management, and ongoing follow-up to ensure account success and growth.

Essential Functions

  • Manage, grow, and retain a portfolio of blood drive accounts within an assigned territory
  • Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with sponsor organizations and key stakeholders
  • Maximize account performance by increasing donor participation and overall drive success
  • Identify, prospect, and develop new sponsor partnerships to expand territory growth
  • Plan and execute strategic initiatives to recruit, retain, and engage donor groups
  • Establish blood drive projections aligned with divisional goals, resources, and inventory needs
  • Collaborate with partners well in advance of drive dates to develop effective recruitment strategies
  • Hold sponsor groups accountable for participation and drive success while providing guidance and support
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for accounts, ensuring clear communication before, during, and after events
  • Partner with organizations to create innovative and engaging campaigns to increase donor turnout
  • Utilize and implement all marketing programs to support account growth and engagement
  • Work cross-functionally within the division to support overall team and organizational goals
  • Establish and support committees within sponsor groups to drive donor recruitment and engagement
  • Lead meetings, presentations, and trainings to educate partners on recruitment strategies and best practices
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to donors, sponsor groups, and internal stakeholders
  • Strengthen community relationships by attending events, health fairs, and outreach opportunities
  • Represent the organization through public speaking engagements to promote the mission and drive participation
  • Continuously seek opportunities to expand relationships within organizations and increase account impact

Minimum Qualifications

  • College degree preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in account management, sales, marketing, or a relationship-driven role preferred
  • Proven ability to build, manage, and grow client or partner relationships
  • Strong public speaking skills with the ability to effectively engage and influence diverse audiences
  • Experience with Microsoft Office including PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
  • Valid Driver’s License with no major infractions and dependable transportation
  • Ability to communicate effectively, tactfully, and professionally with donors, sponsors, and team members
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization and within a diverse environment
