Siemens Mobility, Rolling Stock Division is the North American market leader in the production of passenger locomotives and coaches, and light rail vehicles. As an Electro-Mechanical Technician I, you will support a broad range of electrical and mechanical assembly and installation activities in a dynamic, high energy production environment building electrical control racks, wire harnesses, and other sub-assemblies for the best rail vehicles in the world.

What your day-to-day will look like:

• Build up and assemble units in passenger coaches such as, but not limited to, roofs, cable harnesses, mounted parts, electrical racks, and panels, including air supply racks and piping assemblies.
  
• Connect wires between individual component leads and other components, connectors, terminals, and contact points.
  
• Cut wire to specified lengths and route, twist, wrap, tie, and attach wire to terminal points.
  
• Disassemble, modify, rework, refurbish, reassemble components as required.
  
• Duties may consist of, but not limited to, working from production blueprints, wiring diagrams, parts lists, wire lists, sketches and verbal instructions to produce electrical or Electro-Mechanical subassemblies.
  
• Frequently required to use fine motor skills, assembling some small parts with excellent dexterity.
  

To thrive in this role, you have:

• High school education or state recognized GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience in a manufacturing or similar environment
  
• Experience with electrical panel assembly, construction, automotive or electrical service industries.
  
• Experience with electro-mechanical assembly
  
• Capable of basic written and verbal communication in English
  
• Knowledge of reading of blueprints, diagrams and various part list is helpful.

The base hourly rate range for this position in Lexington, NC is $18.00– $21.96, plus an additional 10% for shift differential. The hourly rate may be higher or lower depending on the budget and the candidate's experience, knowledge, skills, and qualifications.
