Field Mowing Tractor Driver

POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a reliable and experienced Field Mowing Tractor Driver to maintain pastures and grounds on an equine farm. This role is essential to ensuring safe, clean, and well-maintained grazing areas for horses. The ideal candidate will have experience operating agricultural equipment and a strong understanding of farm safety practices.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operate tractors and mowing equipment to maintain pastures, fields, and farm grounds
• Perform routine mowing, bush hogging, and weed control
• Inspect fields for hazards (holes, debris, toxic plants) and report issues
• Conduct basic maintenance on tractors and equipment (fueling, greasing, cleaning, minor repairs)
• Follow all farm safety procedures, especially around horses and farm staff
• Assist with additional farm duties as needed (fence line clearing, dragging arenas, etc.)
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of equipment and storage areas

QUALIFICATIONS

• Previous experience operating tractors, mowers, or similar agricultural equipment required
• Experience working on a farm or around horses preferred
• Ability to safely operate machinery on uneven terrain
• Basic mechanical knowledge for equipment upkeep
• Strong attention to detail and safety awareness
• Ability to work independently and follow directions

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to sit for extended periods while operating machinery    
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions

SCHEDULE:

• Farm landscaping and mowing schedule varies based on weather conditions and workload
• Hours are not set and will fluctuate depending on seasonal needs and farm priorities
• Overtime may be required during peak seasons or when weather conditions impact scheduling

COMPENSATION:

• Starting at $20/hour, based on experience

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Valid driver’s license required
• Reliable transportation
• Must follow all farm safety and animal welfare protocol
