Job Title: Heavy Equipment Mechanic / Diesel Mechanic
Location: 75 W 3^rd Ave Huntington, WV 25701

Pay: $20.75 - $32.50

Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment/Diesel Mechanic to join our team. This individual will be responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing a wide variety of heavy equipment including excavators, skid steers, backhoes, dump trucks, and support vehicles. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, and thrives in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same.

Key Responsibilities:

• Diagnose and repair diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical components, and drivetrains.
• Perform routine maintenance including oil changes, inspections, and part replacements.
• Troubleshoot equipment failures in the field and provide timely repairs to minimize downtime.
• Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts used, and service reports.
• Operate tools and equipment safely while following company and OSHA safety standards.
• Collaborate with operators, supervisors, and shop personnel to ensure equipment reliability.
• Stay current with industry practices, technology, and diagnostic tools.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a heavy equipment or diesel mechanic
• Strong knowledge of hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
• Proficiency in using diagnostic software and tools.
• Valid driver’s license (CDL a plus).
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Formal training or certification in diesel/heavy equipment mechanics.
• Welding and fabrication experience.
• Field service repair experience.
