Responsibilities include:

  • Inspect Transportation Construction Projects: Ensure all work and materials meet project plans, proposals, and specifications
  • Perform Key Measurements & Calculations: Verify weights, volumes, and measurements to ensure accuracy
  • Conduct Materials Testing & Sampling: Ensure materials meet quality standards throughout the project lifecycle
  • Daily Documentation: Record all inspection activities and findings in detailed reports
  • Work Outdoors: Enjoy the variety of working in different weather conditions and environments
  • Physical Responsibilities: Be prepared for heavy lifting and manual tasks as part of the inspection process
  • Independent Work: Take ownership of your tasks and work with minimal supervision
  • Flexible Hours & Travel: Expect extended hours and occasional overnight stays as part of the role

 

A valid driver’s license is required.

 

The successful candidate will hold at least two applicable certifications, and one of the following:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or related field OR
  • An Associate’s Degree in Construction Management or related field AND two (2) years of relevant experience OR
  • If no degree, at least four (4) years of relevant experience

 

The ideal candidate will have any/all of the following:

  • SCDOT Certifications
  • CEPSCI
