Job Overview

The Office of the President is a fast-paced, high-energy environment. Staff members are expected to exercise a high degree of responsibility and independent judgment and often work irregular or extended hours.

The ideal candidate is a highly versatile and self-motivated team player who can make a significant contribution to key events hosted by the University. This position will interact with the external Georgetown community, Office of the President Staff members, and other University offices and programs on a daily basis. Additional responsibilities include: research, programming and logistical support for events team; creating invitations, printing event materials, maintaining calendars; and monitoring and ordering office supplies and equipment. The Presidential Events Team is responsible for executing a variety of event, communications, analytical and administrative duties as part of the Office of the President.

Work Interactions

The Presidential Events Coordinator serves as a member of the Office of the President and reports to the Director of Presidential Events.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 1-3 years of administrative, event planning, fundraising or other relevant experience.

  • Strong computer skills - including Google Suite, Salesforce, CVENT, and Microsoft suite required.

  • Strong research and organizational skills with the analytical ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively with diplomacy, integrity and dependability.

  • Strong written and verbal communications skills.

  • Keen eye for detail combined with passion for accuracy, quality, and confidentiality in all work.

  • Ability to collaborate in a team environment but also exercise and act upon independent judgment with vision, confidence, and a discerning eye towards delivering experiences

  • Ability to think creatively and innovatively.

  • Passion for event planning and hospitality; event management knowledge is a plus.

  • Graphic design experience a plus.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills.

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills.

  • Experience in financial processes; billing reports, invoicing, financial maintenance on projects

Pay Range:

The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is:

$44,022.00 - $73,406.80

Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University’s business needs and external factors.
