Job DetailsJob Location: FMC Lexington - Lexington, KY 40511Salary Range: $45.00 - $45.00 Hourly Registered Nurse (RN) – FMC Lexington Wander Staffing is seeking 5 (five) Registered Nurses to provide nursing services at the Federal Medical Center (FMC) Lexington in Lexington, Kentucky. RNs will provide evaluation, treatment, medication administration, triage, inpatient/ambulatory care, emergency response, and clinical documentation for adults in custody (AICs) within the Health Services Department. LOCATION Primary Site: Federal Medical Center Lexington, 3301 Leestown Road, Lexington, KY 40511 100% on-site in multiple Health Services areas, including inpatient care, Satellite Camp, Central Clinic/medication and insulin lines, Special Housing Unit, and Receiving and Discharge COMPENSATION $45/hr W2 Paid holidays, Vacation,  and Sick Leave SCHEDULE 12-hour shifts; minimum 2 shifts (24 hours) per week per nurse, with optimal coverage targeted at approximately 36 hours/week No Overtime Federal holiday coverage may be required; schedules are generally posted 7 days in advance and may change with approximately 24-hour notice when operational needs require CONTRACT DETAILS Anticipated Start Date: October 1, 2026,  subject to award, security, and credentialing. 12 month contract QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS Graduate of an accredited nursing program with an ADN or BSN Proof of passing the NCLEX-RN examination Current RN licensure Ability to perform ambulatory, inpatient, chronic-care, medication-administration, triage, emergency, and basic first-aid nursing functions within scope of practice Ability to operate EKG and laboratory equipment and accurately document care in an electronic medical record Ability to work professionally in a correctional environment with frequent and unsupervised contact with adults in custody Must successfully complete BOP security vetting, which may include fingerprinting, law-enforcement checks, employment verification, background forms, and credit review Must meet health-clearance requirements, including TB screening/chest x-ray documentation and Hepatitis B vaccination offer/declination documentation DUTIES Provide direct patient care, evaluations, therapeutic treatment, and ambulatory nursing services in accordance with legal, ethical, institutional, and scope-of-practice standards. Assist physicians and advanced practice providers with procedures and coordinate with the Clinical Director, Medical Officers, Advanced Practice Practitioners, and Health Services staff. Administer medications as prescribed, including pill/insulin line and oral, intradermal, subcutaneous, intramuscular, and intravenous routes. Perform triage screening, venipuncture, and occasional blood/blood-product administration; assist with inpatient AIC care. Obtain health histories, assess new complaints, support chronic-care visits, conduct sick call, and recognize/manage common conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, and asthma. Initiate emergency care and provide trauma/lifesaving procedures when clinically indicated. Request appropriate diagnostic testing within scope and interpret results as appropriate; review ordered tests/procedures within required timeframes. Document all clinical encounters and session reports accurately in the BOP Electronic Medical Record and maintain patient privacy/confidentiality. Follow infection-control, institutional security, Privacy Act, and AIC-management requirements at all times. Provide replacement coverage through the contractor for long-term absences as required by the BPA.
