School Intervention Specialist

Location: 241 Greenhouse Road, Lexington, VA

Are you passionate about supporting students' mental health and success in school? RACS is currently seeking a motivated, qualified individual to work in Rockbridge County schools. RACS will provide training, supervision, and education opportunities specific to the position.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct behavioral interventions and therapeutic support to students
  • Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and administrators to develop effective support strategies
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with agency standards
  • Advocate for students by connecting them to appropriate community resources
  • Participate in team meetings, training, and professional development opportunities

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a human service-related field required; mental health or social work focus preferred.
  • One to three years working with children/adolescents in a mental health setting is preferred.
  • QMHP or QMHP-Trainee status (or eligibility) with the Virginia Board of Health Professions is preferred.
  • Strong communication, case management, problem-solving, and ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Valid Virginia driver's license and safe driving record per RACS policies.
