PRIMARY FUNCTION

We are seeking a detail-oriented professional to join our team as a Traffic Administrator. The Traffic Administrator will play a critical role in the execution of meeting customer shipping delivery dates for our Third-Party Logistics (3PL) operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for scheduling trucks with carriers and working with shipping teams ensuring requirements are successfully met.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Scheduling transportation for inbound and outbound shipments for customers.

  • Communicating and negotiating with multiple carrier companies to secure the most cost effective pick-up/deliveries.

  • Preparing required documentation to include Bills of Lading.

  • Filing applicable documentation in designated folders.

  • Adhere to all transportation policies and procedures.

  • Follow up with internal and external stakeholders to ensure on time shipments.

  • Validate all documentation for accuracy in a timely manner.

  • Support management with claims as required.

  • Identify opportunities for improving processes.

  • Assist with keeping track of freight costs utilizing a centralized tracking tool.

  • Provide status and updates to leadership team.

  • Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

  • Experience in working in a DOD or Government Contract environment.

  • Ability to maintain accuracy and precision in assigned tasks.

  • Ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including logistics and program management, to achieve inventory transportation objectives.

  • Familiarity with logistics and supply chain operations, including transportation, warehousing, and distribution processes.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to resolve with minimal supervision.

  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with customers, internal teams, and external carriers to achieve common goals.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, a related field, or combined experience.

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in transportation, shipping, or related roles.

  • Familiar with FedEx, UPS, DHL, and/or other applicable sites.

  • Strong ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment.

  • Computer skills, particularly in Word and Excel.
