Essential Functions (Principal Duties and Job Responsibilities):
- Assist with daily operations of the College’s radiation safety program across academic, research, and clinical settings.
- Conduct routine radiation surveys, contamination wipe tests, and safety inspections in laboratories, imaging suites, and clinical departments.
- Maintain and calibrate radiation survey instruments, meters, and dosimetry equipment.
- Collect and process personnel dosimeters; maintain accurate exposure and compliance records.
- Assist with inventory management of radioactive materials, sealed sources, and radiation-producing devices (e.g., x-ray units, fluoroscopy systems).
- Support and help deliver radiation safety training for faculty, staff, residents, students, and clinic personnel.
- Assist in the preparation and maintain compliance documentation for federal, state, and institutional regulations.
- Participate in radiation waste collection, labeling, storage, and disposal.
- Respond to radiation incidents and assist with decontamination and corrective actions under RSO supervision.
- Collaborate with clinical departments to ensure compliance with radiation protection requirements in patient care areas.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Understanding of basic radiation principles and clinical safety practices.
- Ability to learn and apply NRC, state, and institutional safety regulations.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills across academic and clinical departments.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and data management systems.
- Ability to work independently and maintain organized documentation.

Demonstrated attention to detail, professional attitude, and ability to maintain confidentially.
Education and Experience Required:
• Bachelor’s degree in Health Physics, Radiologic Sciences, Environmental Health, Biology, Chemistry, or a related field preferred.
Education and Experience Preferred:
Master’s degree in Health Physics, Radiologic Sciences, Environmental Health, Biology, Chemistry, or a related field preferred.
• Experience in research or clinical radiation safety, radiology, or environmental health preferred. RSO is willing to train motivated candidate.
