Job Description:

JOB SUMMARY: The Department of Occupational Therapy at Saginaw Valley State University invites applications for a contracted fieldwork clinical instructor position.  The position includes providing supervision and guidance for small groups of occupational therapy students during an instructor-led fieldwork rotation at a designated facility in the community.  This person will collaborate with the Academic Fieldwork Coordinator regarding student expectations, performance, and learning. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Developing rapport with assigned facility, staff, and clients

  • Identification and assignment of caseload

  • Facilitation of student learning opportunities in support of the MSOT curriculum

  • Provide verbal and written feedback to support student growth

  • Evaluation of student performance

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED:

General supervision is received from Stacey Webster

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s degree in occupational therapy

  • At least one year of clinical experience

  • Experience with student education and/or supervision

  • Current OT licensure in the state of Michigan, or eligible

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and able to learn new software quickly.

  • Experience and ability to positively interact with a diverse campus community.

  • Ability to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodations.

PREFERED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience working with pediatric or geriatric populations.
