Job Description

Seattle Pacific Seminary is accepting applications for adjunct faculty in theological and ministerial education. Teaching opportunities include courses in biblical studies, church history, theology, ethics, spiritual formation, preaching, and ministry leadership at both the graduate and undergraduate levels. 

Teaching in these courses provides an opportunity to engage students intellectually and spiritually, fostering integration of academic study, vocational calling, and personal faith development within a dynamic learning community.

Requirements

  • Masters or Doctoral degree in theology, biblical studies, church history, practical theology, or a closely related field.

  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching and mentoring students from diverse backgrounds and traditions.

Commitment to integrative, interdisciplinary learning, uniting theological scholarship with the liberal arts and ethical engagement in the world.

  • Experience with or openness to alternative learning systems, including hybrid and online teaching modalities.

  • Personal commitment to Christian faith, enthusiasm about supporting SPU’s mission, alignment with the University’s Statement of Faith, and willingness to uphold the lifestyle standards of the SPU community.

  • Desire to meet regularly with students for mentoring and vocational discernment.

Additional Information:

Compensation: Commensurate with rank, qualifications, and experience. Adjunct compensation typically ranges from $850–$1,000 per credit hour.
