The Center for Academic Success and Achievement (CASA) is seeking experienced and knowledgeable Professional Tutors to support the academic success of Meharry Medical College students. Professional Tutors play a key role in reinforcing course content, enhancing test preparation, and fostering independent learning for medical, dental, and graduate students. Through one-on-one and small group sessions, tutors create personalized learning experiences that build confidence and promote mastery of complex subjects. This role is essential in supporting academic excellence and professional readiness, particularly in preparation for national board exams.

Essential Functions (Duties and Responsibilities)

  • Provide group and one-on-one tutoring sessions to support student understanding of course material
  • Foster an inclusive, supportive, and engaging learning environment
  • Assist students in developing effective study strategies and time management skills
  • Maintain professionalism and confidentiality at all times
  • Communicate regularly with supervisor regarding scheduling, student progress, and updates
  • Adhere to the agreed-upon tutoring schedule and notify supervisor promptly of any changes
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
