records and documentation.

Job Description:

Baptist Health is looking for a Home Infusion Certified Pharmacy Technician Specialist to join our team at 2100 Nicholasville Rd, Lexington, KY!

Monday - Friday, 9am - 5:30pm.

No weekends, holidays or on call.

  • Prepare sterile intravenous medications following aseptic technique and compounding guidelines.
  • Accurately measure and mix medications according to prescribed dosages and formulations.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sterility of the compounding area and equipment.
  • Understands and complies with USP 797 standards.
  • Conduct thorough patient assessments to ensure appropriateness for home infusion therapy.
  • Educate patients and caregivers on medication administration techniques, potential side effects, and proper storage of medications.
  • Provide ongoing support and counseling to patients to promote medication adherence and optimal therapeutic outcomes.
  • Collaborate with pharmacists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and treatment plans.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, caregivers, and healthcare providers to address medication related concerns and ensure continuity of care.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of all interactions and interventions related to patient care.
  • Verify active coverage with Medical and Pharmacy benefit payors.
  • Verify services and products are correctly authorized and that required documentation is accurate and on file prior to billing.
  • Adhere to regulatory requirements, including state pharmacy laws, HIPAA regulations, and accreditation standards.
  • Perform quality assurance checks on compounded medications to ensure potency, sterility, and accuracy.
  • Participate in regular audits and inspections to uphold standards of practice and safety protocols.
  • Monitor inventory levels of medications and supplies and coordinate timely replenishment orders.
  • Verify and maintain proper storage conditions for medications to ensure stability and potency.
  • Assist in the receiving, unpacking, and storing of pharmaceutical products according to established procedures.

Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1 year of job-related work experience.
  • Current KY Pharmacy Technician Registration.
  • PTCB National Pharmacy Technician certification.
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver's license.

  • Must be willing and available to travel.
